The Carathian Empire was in turmoil-by design.Amidst the fallout of terrorist attacks and the consequential Imperial State of Emergency, Preceptor Nico Bribane and Preceptor Zachary Hawkins arrived on Carath to investigate the deaths of over thirty fellow Na'dari, an ecumenical order of monk warriors. All the Na'dari deaths were under suspicious and gruesome circumstances, pointing to one cause: the Dark Arts of Sorcery. Was the sinister source behind the killings a random conjurer? Or was it a dangerous order of Carathian sorcerers, believed extinct, resurfacing from the shadows?Through their inquiry, the preceptors discovered evidence linking the Na'dari killings to the terrorist attacks--and a wider plot within the Imperial Government to overthrow the empire.
