As stated on page opposite the title page, this is the First American Edition and is a Limited Edition # 399/2000: " This, the first American Edition of "Seven Men, containing an Appendix and Six Drawings not published elsewhere, consists of two thousand copies of which this is number 399." Black cloth covered boards with gold lettering. Boards show some wearing with small spotting ; binding is slightly pulling away from front board. Top of binding is worn and slightly torn, while bottom shows rubbing. Gilded top of pages, 239 pages which includes the "Appendix" of the six sketches done by Beerbohm. Tiny dealer's sticker affixed to bottom opposite corner of pastedown: The Old Corner Bookstore, Inc. Boston, Mass. Numbered/Limited First American Edition: #399/2000, with five tipped in illustrated plates. One of the plates contains two drawings, so accounting for six men.
