A cornerstone of Greek Mythology, Medusa is known all too well as the monster with snakes for hair, and a look that will turn any man to stone. But, there are two sides to every story. Mortal, young and beautiful, Medusa admires Athena above all others. When she gets the chance to visit Mount Olympus, she can hardly believe her luck. On Olympus, the Gods live as only Gods can. Medusa finds friendship, admiration ... and love. She also finds herself inserted into a rivalry that has lasted eons. Punished for a crime she didn't commit, Medusa is cursed by the object of her devotion and banished from all she's ever known. Her beautiful face is replaced by that of a monster with snakes for hair and eyes that turn men to stone. Nowhere is safe. She is hunted and hated for things beyond her control, and outside of her understanding. Those she once held closest, conspire to destroy her. Set in Stone takes a look at the untold story, and provides an alternative view to the life of a fascinating young woman. More than anything, it asks the questions: What truly makes a monster?
About the Author: R.C. Berry is a freelance writer born and raised in Maryland. From the beginning, she enjoyed reading and, was very imaginative. English quickly became her favorite subject, and she began reading stories at higher levels. Her joy was taking what she read in school, and retelling it to members of her family. Growing up, she found writing to be a fonder passion than reading. She started writing short stories and poetry. After much insistence from her friends, She began working on her first novel. With its completion, she began to think seriously about publishing. Unable to bear the thought of, not only the rejection of her work, but the possibility of having it chopped up, she felt her only real option was to self publish. With her friend, she started Touche Publishing, in the hopes of giving authors the same freedom of expression, along with the opportunity to see their dreams become a reality.
