Collated complete.Written by William Gibson, a pioneering surgeon and farrier, known for his scientific approach to horse care. Gibson revolutionised equine medicine, focusing on evidence based treatment and away from a more superstitious approach. He is perhaps best known for his 1751 work, 'A New Treatise on the Diseases of Horses'.The True Method of Dieting horses emphasised personalised dieting and treatment based on the individual horse and its role. The work also focused on preventative medicine, through proper feeding and grooming. In contemporary full calf. A trifle rubbed, with slight loss to extremities. Joints cracked and somewhat tender. Front free endpaper detached but present. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with the odd spot and handling mark. Contemporary ink annotation regarding foaling to rear blank.
