Paperback. Our world grows ever more bewildering, complex and stressful. Scientists daily unveil dazzling new discoveries, technology progresses at an exponential rate and the established order is changing with ever-increasing speed. And yet, in this age of ubiquitous information, the basic questions remain unanswered: Who am I? What is my purpose in life? Are events as random and capricious as they seem? Why are so many innocent people the victims of circumstances? Is there life after death and can bad people expect eternal damnation? If there is a God, why does He allow so much suffering? Can I and my loved ones be safe from harm? How can I deal with these overwhelming questions? This book, "It Makes Sense. Life is Good - Life is Fair," is a breath of fresh air. It presents an escape from the conventions society takes for granted. The author, a confirmed skeptic and advocate of the scientific method of inquiry, distills the results of decades of study and practice into a lucid and reasonable account of where the human race has come from and where it is going. Respectful of the value and intelligence of every person, and encouraging the right to challenge and to demand well-informed answers, the author addresses all of these basic questions. In simple, easy-to-understand language, the reader is given the techniques and methods to guarantee success in the journey of life. And because of the Goodness which undergirds the earth and the universe, all living beings, without exception, may expect to reach that happy state of understanding. Life is good and life is fair.
