Foxing to end pages and edge. No date but a newspaper clipping inside pages is dated 1971. The recipes given are intended chiefly for people of moderate income, although a few of a more elaborate and expensive character have been included. Full detailed instructions are given so that the most inexperienced housekeeper or cook should have no difficulty in following them, and the nearest possible estimate of the time required for cooking is added. The illustrations are from photographs of the actual dishes prepared from the recipes given in this work. The coloured plates will be found useful in showing the cook how her dish will look when ready for the table, and the diagrams of the actual operations will be found of great assistance to the inexperienced. Illustrated. 374 pp.
