'The views are classified in two divisions: the first depicting the places of worship, residencs and entertainment of fashionable society and the second the temples of the financial and merchantile City. Of particular topographical interest is the set of views of West End squares, not published sytematically on this modest scale since Overton's Prospect of nearly 100 years earlier.'- Adams. pp. [viii],159. With 76 hand coloured plates mostly in aquatint, some in line, 5 of which folding. Some occasional offsetting from the plates to the facing text, but not the other way round. A few minor marginal marks, but otherwise a clean copy in contemporary diced calf by Merridew & Son, Coventry, the spine worn & the front board detached. Vg.
