The Penny Magazine of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge. Published in London by Charles Knight, Pall-Mall East, 1832. An early Victorian-era illustrated educational periodical from its inaugural publication year, covering subjects intended to make useful knowledge accessible to a broad readership. Bound in attractive green, blue and gold marbled boards with a black leather-style spine and raised bands. Title page dated 1832, with an early handwritten ownership inscription. Age-related toning, spotting and wear visible to the pages, particularly around the edges. Later binding appears generally presentable. An interesting early nineteenth-century publication of historical and antiquarian interest. Please refer to photographs for condition. Completeness and presence of all original illustrations have not yet been verified.
