Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. Americans? How was Germany able to wage World War II? Why did the English come to prefer white bread to whole-grain varieties? Five plants, quinine, sugar cane, tea, cotton, and the potato, have in effect been powerful historical catalysts, and have been responsible for changing the course of humanity.".
