The kelp forest has no birds, flowers, wind, or sun, yet teems with animals and lush vegetation. Through dramatic photographs and simple text, The Secrets of Kelp Forests, from the Jean-Michel Cousteau Presents series, brings this amazingly rich wilderness to life. Readers meet its incredible array of plants and animals, from tiny snails to enormous kelp plants, deadly sharks to voracious sea urchins. The book also introduces strange creatures that live on the ocean floor, from bizarre nudibranchs to fearsome moray eels. This title explores the many factors, both manmade and natural, that impact this delicate environment as well.
