Paperback. Dueling stories make this book unique and has the reader sitting on the edge of their seat to see how they are connected. Jayme's career project has been put on hold due to lack of funding. While she ponders her future goals, determined to continue with seeking backing, she obsesses over her favorite author's latest novel. She doesn't believe what his critics claim that he's psychotic, deranged, and sick. Jayme considers him a genius of the written word for his over-active imagination and command of the English language. As she gets deeper into the book where Natalie struggles to escape her insane kidnapper's plan to impregnate her and create the perfect race, Jayme thinks that this one is his best book so far. At a book signing, Gene Cruz, the author, invites Jayme for coffee and extends an invitation to visit his amazing home in Vermont. She discovers a gentleman - kind, considerate, and thoughtful. But lingering doubts has her questioning whether the critics could be right, or is the man she's gotten close to all that he appears to be. A surprise twist ending to both stories is something that no one could have predicted. Will Jayme and Natalie fall prey to evil forces, or will there be happy endings for both?
