Secrets, Adventure, Fear, & Love : Book Five is a collection of six stories by a team of very talented authors.
Night Caller by Kevin Bouchard
An idyllic New England town. A fearsome Nor’easter. A centuries old legend. And a panicked phone call in the dead of night. Thus begins the longest night of Kit Winslow’s and her three year old daughter, Amy’s life. With her husband Allen in his grave, and few allies in her strange new home, Kit must confront an ancient evil that has come to settle a centuries old debt. And before the night is over Kit will come to realize that there are indeed places where denizens from the darkest realms are as real as the cold biting wind of a storm.
Avocados Versus Mangos by Elaine DeGroot
A slice of life disaster. A couple's Cinco de Mayo party is threatened with failure when the husband buys mangos for the guacamole!
The Ring by Michelle L Crocker
When Marine wife Isabella “Izzy” Davis watches her husband deploy, she clings to the promise sealed in the band on her finger: as long as she wears the ring, he’ll come home. The Ring is a heartfelt story about the bond that distance can’t break and the courage it takes to hold on.
An Unexpected Murder by Bernard Doucette
In the corrupt, crime-ridden town of Montville, it's not a Saturday night without a few murders. But when the body of a high-level politician is found, likely the victim of orcs from the Shrouded Vale, an occurrence that hasn't happened in south Terra for centuries, the stakes couldn't be higher to solve the case. Two intrepid investigators and a wizard follow the trail from Montville's murky streets to the dreaded Ogre Canyons, leading them to the doorstep of an ancient evil. Prevailing will take all their skills and abilities, a healthy amount of luck, and, perhaps, a little bit of magic.
Rigel Comes In Peace by Paul Smith
Within the cockpit, Rigel, the pilot from the Orion constellation, gripped the controls with a mix of determination and apprehension. His large, intelligent eyes scanned the Earth below, searching for a safe place to land after his unexpected journey through the cosmos. With a final burst of energy, the spaceship touched down in a remote corner of the abandoned Walker Air Force Base, its landing sending a shower of sparks and dust into the night air. Rigel's heart raced with a mix of relief and uncertainty as he emerged from the cockpit, his form bathed in the soft glow of the planet’s single moon. As he stood on the unfamiliar soil of Earth, Rigel's thoughts turned to his distant home among the stars, the memory of his crash landing etched in his mind like a distant echo. The night was alive with the echoes of his arrival, a testament to the power of resilience and the promise of new beginnings in the face of the unknown.
Eve’s Ghostly Surprise By Lizzy Stevens & Steve Miller
A year had passed since Eve lost the love of her life, Dillon, in a car accident. Strange thing started to happen. The radio started playing one of Dillon’s favorite songs and nothing would make it stop. When she got out of the hot shower words would form on the fogged-up mirror. What was happening? Who was doing this? Could it really be Dillon trying to tell her something?
