From the Author: Robert Arthur's daughter wants to hear from you!
I’m not the author, Robert Arthur, but his daughter, Elizabeth Arthur. Just writing that sentence reminds me of how many fan letters Dad used to get which either began "Dear Mr. Author," or which said, "since you are a published arthur..." My father died in 1969, before he even had a chance to read most of those letters, or to know how many readers were going to be affected by The Three Investigators. For years, fan mail from children went to my Aunt Margaret, who answered every single letter she ever received, and then it came to me, who, I am ashamed to admit, didn’t.

But I was still very happy to get the letters, and to know that there was a huge group of loyal and enthusiastic fans of Jupiter Jones and Pete Crenshaw and Bob Andrews out there somewhere. Now that the first six of Dad’s books are finally back in print, I would so like to be in touch directly with those of you who have already posted reviews to this page, and also with any other fan of the series who may, in future, visit the site.

Please e-mail me, Elizabeth Arthur, at bauersa@muohio.edu. Even now, I can’t promise to write a personal response to everyone who writes me, because I am new to e-mail, and I can’t estimate how many letters I may get this way. I do promise to try to get something back to all of you who write, however. My father would have been so happy to read your comments, and to know what an influence his books had. He had a faith in the good taste and intelligence of young readers which is, I think, amply borne out by the good taste and intelligence of the adults his young readers have turned into!
