Print on Demand. This book examines secret societies' practices and motivations, exposing the contrast between their values and those of Christianity, the family, civil governance, and the natural world. The author scrutinizes the use of oaths and pledges to bind members to secrecy, examining how this practice separates them from society and emphasizing the danger of prioritizing secret society obligations over those to family, church, and state. The work delves into the differences between open and closed organizations, arguing that secret societies' emphasis on secrecy fosters abuse and corruption. Drawing a parallel between secret societies and Satan, the author sees them as a manifestation of evil, citing historical examples of their destructive influence, including the murder of Captain Morgan and the suppression of Christianity in China. The book concludes by emphasizing the need to reject secret societies and embrace open, transparent organizations aligned with truth and righteousness. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

Motive gives character to action. This is a settled principle in moral philosophy. A man may do a good thing for an evil purpose, or he may do an evil thing for a good purpose. In the first in stance, the man's character is vitiated, though the action in itself is commendable. In the second case the man's motive is not to be impeached, but his judgment as to strict morality is to be con demned. In the Divine ethics, the lesson is, God forbid that we should do evil that good may come. In matters of necessity we must choose the less of two evils. The writer is not conscious of any evil feeling or motive in the composition of this work or in its presentation to the public for their consideration. He has laid aside all prejudice, ill-feeling, spite and malice, and has in no way per mitted himself to indulge in a spirit of retaliation.
