Sebastian Neeb looks at the present with subtle humour and balances painting on its edge. He, for example, designs golden trophies for nonsensical achievements such as 'waving back'. Or he creates portraits that call to mind the Renaissance or the Baroque and juxtaposes them with whimsical objects such as folded paper noses or carved wooden sausages. His multifaceted artistic cosmos is being presented for the first time in this extensive publication. A supplementary conversation with the artist moreover answers a few pressing questions such as: Why the sausage?
