Alex Woodward is a man of many hats. At twenty-six he is a yoga teacher, mental health graduate student and therapist-in-training, first generation college graduate focused on psychology, book author, business owner, and seasoned traveler. Having been to forty-eight National parks, forty-five states, and multiple countries in a five-year span, his writing is heavily inspired by isolated contemplations made on cross country road trips while sleeping in a tent amidst immersive and beautiful natural environments.
Through his life, spirituality and a relationship with God has been integral to his passion for exploration. He draws on the philosophies of many religions and cultural practices such as Christianity, Buddhism, Taosim, Cherokee folklore, and the Yogic traditions. Poetry, meditation, and intentional reflection have been the outlet and medium for expressing his inner beliefs as well as observations made throughout life's challenges. While travel and spirituality are the source his inspiration, the need to create and offer insight into the lessons he's learned fuel his desire to help others along the way. He owns and operates Under the Sky, a travel and lifestyle consultancy focused on offering advice on navigating mindset and wanderlust.
Alex's family and friends are vital to him as are all the strangers he meets in day-to-day life who have their own stories and unique lessons to offer.
