About the Author: Michael DeWall comes from fine musical stock. His mother, Wanda Curtis, was an acclaimed jazz singer during the 1950's and 1960's. Michael spent his teenage years in Argentina where he learned how to sing and play guitar--Argentine folk, bossa nova, jazz, and calypso. He moved to LA and became director for four Berlitz schools. In 1983 he relocated to the Bay Area, and since 1993 has taught Spanish at Albany Middle School. In 2000 Michael released his first CD, Soy Americano, and in 2008 he released his second CD, titled Dream. Michael performs around the Bay Area with his jazz quintet. He is currently living in Richmond, California with his wife Viola and their son Nathaniel. Listen to songs at michaeldewall.com. Co-author Peter Elman is a record producer, writer and teacher. He has produced over 30 commercially released albums, among them pop, rock, country, folk, Americana, blues, r&b, roots rock, and Latin. As a journalist, Peter worked for the Contra Costa Times from 2000 to 2011 covering prep and college sports. He has written features, articles, essays and letters that have appeared in the Contra Costa Times, Oakland Tribune and San Francisco Chronicle. He is currently working on a collection of memoirs, a children's chapter book and a young adult novel. He has been a teacher since 2003, and is currently working part-time in the Albany school district. He resides in Oakland, California, with his wife and two children.
