Did Butch Cassidy really die in a shoot-out with Bolivian troops in 1908 (as so graphically portrayed in the film, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? The author says not, and in this fascinating book gives overwhelming evidence to prove that Cassidy escaped into Brazil, leaving his friend the Sundance Kid dead, and returned to America. In a massive piece of detective work, the author, Larry Pointer, gives us Cassidy's whole life story, tracing his origins to a Mormon family who emigrated from Lancashire to escape religious intolerance and with only a handcart made the 1300-mile trek across America to the Great Salt Lake. This book is a truly riveting and enjoyable book.
