Neuware - Chinese genre painting, for its long development, is a vital part of traditional Chinese painting.Chinese genre painting, for its long development, is a vital part of traditional Chinese painting. It records vividly the life of the ancients and possesses high artistic and historic values. Among all masterpieces that remain to this day, Along the River During the Qingming Festival stands out to be the most renowned. This book consists of two volumes: research and appreciation. The research volume, with beautiful illustrations, introduces the development of genre painting and the works within, and then further emphasises the masterpiece Along the River During the Qingming Festival. The appreciation volume, in the form of an overfivemetre horizontal scroll, reproduces the original work and presents clear details of figures, livestock, carriages, boats, houses, and bridges.
