A Magical Bedtime Adventure for Brave Kids
A cozy, not-too-scary Halloween chapter book with real courage inside.
When the moon steps through the window and the house takes a deep quiet breath, Scout—the bunny with the silver stitch over his heart—wakes up for just one night… to help.
Tonight’s mission? 🎃 The Broomstick Bus has run off-route.
It’s Halloween-eve, and Amanda (age 9) is practicing steady steps for the lantern walk—until the moonlit Broomstick Bus zooms away with no driver. That’s when Scout’s Moonlight Mission begins: a magical transit night where order has rules, whistles mind their manners, and every stop must be taken in the right order. With each falling star on the Moon-Clock, time speeds up—and Scout must guide the bus home and be back by morning, or the magic thins.
Along the way, Scout meets:
🫧 The Bubble Witch, who believes clean calls open doors
🫛 Pumpkin Pants, a squeaky rhythm coach who proves Steady > Fast
👻 A hiccuping ghost who learns that a calm beat tames “boo”
🛎 The Bell of Order, the Lamplighter, and a map that hates shortcuts
🌒 A race past the Roundabout of Going Nowhere, kindness doors, tiny hand-cues, and one promise kept—in order.
Together, they face a question every child recognizes:
Is it braver to chase fast… or to keep the pace and name what’s wrong out loud?
