Deep Red Cloth Cover with black decoration and bright gilt lettering to front, Gilt Illustration of a Knight crossing a waterfall, and panoply of arms on spine. All page edges bright gilt. Historical Novel of William Wallace, Robert the Bruce etc. Frontispiece is an engraving of a King fighting a knight, protected by Tissue Guard. Illustrated Title Page, with the White Tower flanked by arms, precedes the printed title page. Preface dated 1803. This copy looks mid victorian. No inscriptions. Front free endpaper, Frontispiece and Illustrated Title Page detached. Front & Rear hinges cracked. Pages and Plates in very nice condition,only a very few spots of foxing, some wear to cover with a closed tear (1/2" long) at top of spine. Gilt decoration on spine slightly worn. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Seller Inventory # 004376
