Print on Demand. This book expounds on the 19th-century philosophy of self-education, the development of the concept through history and the author's belief that it is the most important form of education. The book laments the flaws in the educational systems of the time, such as their focus on specialization at the expense of a holistic approach and the neglect of moral and spiritual development. This book argues that self-education is the key to developing the whole person and to ensuring that education serves the individual rather than the other way around. The author also posits that through self-education, one can harness the power of the self-development inherent within human nature to achieve their full potential. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.
