One of the best book ever written on electricity and magnetism visualizations so properties of materials may be exploited for practical purposes. If you intend on being an actual Electrical Engineer, this book should be on your shelf, even if it is old. Basic EM laws haven't changed. The book was intended to provide content for a 1st course at the university level for engineering and science students. Prerequisites are algebra, trigonometry, analytical geometry, and elementary mechanics. 9 chapters, 4 appendixes, ToC plus index, and over 250 problems, with answers given to most problems. xvi + 816pps. James Milton Ham, OC OOnt (1920-1997) was a Canadian engineer, university administrator and President of the University of Toronto. He was described as the father of occupational health and safety in Canada. Gordon Richard Slemon, OC (1924-2011) was a Canadian electrical engineer and professor. In 1994, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada for his work as "a world authority on the analysis, design and development of electric machines and controlled drive systems, he has dedicated his professional life to teaching and research in engineering". In 1990, he was awarded the IEEE Nikola Tesla Award, given each year to a team or to an individual that has made an outstanding contribution to the generation or utilization of electric power. He was elected to Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. In 2011, he received the Engineering Institute of Canada's highest award, the Sir John Kennedy Medal. Hardcover has black cloth boards, red lettering & designs on spine, but no DJ. Suspect reworked from a quisi-public library to appear privately owned. Sticker scar on spine and end-pages glued together. Carefully stored and handled, has square corners but scratch on rear cover. Interior is tight, clean and unmarked. Copyright 1961.
