Item description from seller

Chicago: Science and Mechanics Publishing Company, 1951. Single issue of this popular late 1940s and 1950s magazine that provided information on interesting technological do-it-yourself projects as well as news on "cutting-edge" scientific developments. The magazine usually had bright illustrated covers that contained futuristic and sometimes imaginary images that reflected the popular optimism of the time. This issue has cover art showing giant military transport helicopters. Articles in this issue include: Youth Builds Atom Smasher; How to Find a Gold Mine; Nash Sportser Does 125 MPG; Pigeonhole Parking; Winning Battles Against Cancer; Swimming Jeep; Backyard Bomb Shelter; Let Glass Do the Lighting; Flying Saucer; Pressurized Extinguisher; much more. Softcover, very good condition with light wear to the spine, very minor edge rubbing, contents a little age-toned but clean, no names or other markings. Soft Cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
