Title: Schofield: Union General in the Civil War ...
Publisher: Florida State University Press
Publication Date: 1972
Book Condition: Near Fine
Dust Jacket Condition: Fine
Edition: 1st Edition
This is a sterling 1st Edition/1st Printing of McDonough's scarce account of Union General John McAllister Schofield's colorful career, starting with his near-dismissal from West Point, continuing through his Civil War campaigns and culminating with his post-war terms as Commanding General of the United States Army and United States Secretary of War. This copy is in very Near-Fine condition: its only defects are very slight and faint foxing to outer page edges and one lightly bumped corner (the upper right of the front cover). All else looks like new, including the dust jacket, which is not clipped, shows no wear, and has been placed in a clear mylar protective cover. A great find for the collector of Civil War-related materials, this beautiful 1st Edition came from an extensive private library and was obviously well cared for. It will be bubble-wrapped and shipped in a sturdy box to ensure safe delivery. Bookseller Inventory # ABH325
