Add to basketA scarce superior set of the magnum opus by Joseph Schillinger (admired by many composers, such as Henry Cowell, George Gershwin, John Barry). This a matching two-volume set of the original 1946 4th edition, complete with good dustjackets (now in removable archival protectors). These are not one of the later reprints (eg DaCapo, 1978; Clock & Rose, 2003) nor the easy-to-find cheap digital or on-demand reprints. Also, this is definitely not an ex-library copy. There is a previous owner's name written in ink on the inside front cover of each volume. Internally, the pages are otherwise nice and clean, with no annotations, markings or highlighting. The paper and edges are age-toned (as expected), but still very good. The dustjackets are in good condition, both price clipped, with some small areas of damage at the edges, not affecting the text (see photos), but are otherwise intact and satisfying. This is an unusual opportunity to acquire an original set of the fourth (and best) edition of this important work in very presentable and collectible condition. Book weight: 3.1 kg (6.8 lbs). Depending on buyer location, additional shipping will probably be required for this heavy set.
