Item description from seller

W J Baird is the author of this beautiful little book 'The Scenery of Scotland: The Structure Beneath', with magnificent aerial photographs by Patricia Macdonald. Together they reveal how the beauty that stirs us, be it mountain, sea-cliff, strath or carse, is the result of events which have involved seas, sediments, rocks, heat, pressure, rain, wind and ice. This is a copy in as new condition, immaculate both inside and out.

Store description

I will begin by saying that mine is neither a conventional bookstore nor a conventional business. I have been a great reader and learner all my long life and have acquired a substantial number of books, which I began to sell off in a small way when I moved to a flat about ten years ago - and now that I am even older I am having to move once again in the next year or so, this time into an even smaller flat in a retirement community. In short, my Abe membership is a consequence of too little space and way too many books... My collection is fairly eclectic and mostly derives from my various hobbies, notably malacology and crafting. However there are a few more general items as well, some already owned by me, but also for the last five years or so I have enjoyed scouting around in charity shops testing my ability to acquire interesting oddities that I think might sell well. I like to be meticulous in what I do, and with regard to the books that I have for sale you may be sure that they will be packaged and sent to you with care, should you decide to purchase an item. Please enjoy my inventory!
