In the sleepy, fog-drenched village of Blackwood, nothing ever happens—until Halloween.

For best friends Aiden and Iain, Halloween night was supposed to be about collecting candy and avoiding a grounding. But when they stumble upon a life-sized scarecrow propped against a neighbour’s fence, they discover something far more sinister than a holiday decoration: a real, dead body dressed in a high-end suit, wearing an expensive wristwatch that is still ticking.

What starts as a traumatic encounter quickly spirals into a dangerous game of cat and mouse. When they find a train ticket and a mysterious key in the victim's pocket, the boys realize they have stumbled into a conspiracy far larger than their quiet village. As they are hunted through the dark, echoing corridors of Central Station and the maze-like shadows of a derelict rail yard, they uncover a terrifying truth: they aren't just accidental witnesses—they are being watched.

Armed only with their wits, a cryptic journal, and a desperate determination to uncover why they are being targeted, Aiden and Iain must race to solve the mystery before the "alignment" occurs—a chilling event that threatens to rip the veil between worlds.

In a village where shadows have teeth and the landmarks hide ancient secrets, the two boys are about to find out that some mysteries are better left buried—and that in Blackwood, the game is always afoot.
