Synopsis:

Alex loves dirt biking, soccer, and helping his mom with his little sister. He also happens to stutter. Alex shares what it is like for him when he stutters, as well as ways to help make communication a little easier.

The Something to Say Collection promotes self-advocacy, understanding of speech and language differences, and conversation about embracing diversity. Written by a speech-language pathologist, each book features a character with a communication difference. Characters' strengths and interests are highlighted, while the reader gains an increased understanding of how to support communication. Readers can feel a connection to the characters as they reflect on their own experiences and enjoy the sweet and colorful illustrations.

About the Authors: Eden Molineux is a speech-language pathologist living in Alberta, Canada with her husband and two little boys. In her work with children and families in preschool and elementary school settings, she has the opportunity to serve and learn from children with a variety of complex communication needs. She also has the pleasure of collaborating with caring teachers to support children in their learning and interactions with others. These experiences have inspired Eden to write the Something to Say collection in order to help children advocate for themselves and feel pride in their abilities. When she isn't doing the work she loves, Eden enjoys baking, being creative, and watching her boys play hockey.

Nathalie is a freelance illustrator living in Argentina. She started her working career as a graphic designer in advertising at a time when an illustrator had little to do, as everything was about photos. One day, she decided she had had enough and became a self employed illustrator pursuing her lifelong childhood dream. Since then she had illustrated many books and magazines from countries all over the world, specializing in children and women oriented graphics. She loves to start her creations the traditional way (pencil and paper) and finish up digitally, mixing techniques such as watercolor, collage, vector drawing and photoshop coloring. When Eden contacted her for the Something to Say series of books, Nathalie felt particularly involved due to her sensibility towards children with special communication needs and felt she definitely wanted to be a part of this beautiful project. Nathalie is extremely reliable and responsible when she takes on an assignment. She is represented by Deborah Wolfe Ltd. at IllustrationOnline.com. You can contact her at beauvoisnathalie@gmail.com she will love hearing about your project as well! web: http: //nathaliebeauvois.weebly.com/
