1857. New Edition. 375 pages. No dust jacket. Decorative red cloth. Black and white frontispiece is slightly loose. Gilded text block edges. Prize plate stuck to pastedown. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout. Severe cracking to hinges and gutters causing boards and binding to be loose. However, boards & pages throughout remain attached. Boards have mild edge-wear with bumping to corners. Light crushing to spine. Minor splits causing fraying to cloth at spine ends. Visible splitting to front joint, board remains firm.
