Its eight issues contained essays, fiction and poetry by illustrious authors, including W.B. Yeats, Bernard Shaw, Max Beerbaum and Joseph Conrad. The magazine was centered around the art of Aubrey Beardsley with the editor of the magazine being Arthur Symons (1865 1945). Stanley Weintraub has reproduced five of the eight issues to show the themes and diverse literary works of the era. The Appendices reproduce the literary and art contents of the eight issues of "The Savoy".
