A dark science-fiction novelette

On the run, the survivors of the scientific spacecraft, Magpie, take on an unorthodox job for a rogue space station's eccentric chief medical officer. Looting is not what the Magpie was built for, but debts to maintain freedom must be paid. Any job will do.

Within the ghost ship, Mesmer 003, is a valuable reactor core sealed behind a biometric lock. Only command level crew of the Mesmer could have opened the vault. Unfortunately, they're all dead. The Magpie's doctor, Selma Seaward, has a macabre solution.

Rebecca is a fantasy and science fiction author, artist, mother, daydreamer, and she is unabashedly human.

As an author, Rebecca's greatest strength are her characters. From neighborly and chubby cactus dryads who offer supernatural bug facts, to beast taming acrobats, her Sigils series offers an amazing cast of weirdos trying to survive and fight for what's right.

Although Rebecca was born in Gunnison, Colorado, she has spent most of her life in Florida, but she's finally come home and has settled at the edge of Colorado Springs where she can prep yearly for the stegosaurus holiday with her husband and son.
