The most uncommon of the Sanders authored Union readers, illustrated throughout with attractive woodcut vignettes and illustrations in full period detail. Block-printed cover illustration of a father walking his daughter riding her pony. Covers a bit dulled and darkened but still charming. A few pages with edge or corner trears or loss, thumbing, toning, etc., some 19th c, penciling, but overall good example of this hard-to-find first in a series of period readers. NOT EX-LIBRARY.
