In The Network, the past finally stops whispering and starts hunting.
When Salvager uncovers a pattern behind a string of disappearances long written off as unrelated, he realizes the truth is far bigger - and far more organized - than he ever imagined. What looks like coincidence is anything but. Someone has been quietly pulling strings for years, erasing people, burying evidence, and protecting powerful interests at any cost.
As Salvager digs deeper, every lead connects to an unseen web of influence - a network that operates in the shadows, beyond law enforcement, beyond accountability. The closer he gets to the truth, the more isolated he becomes. Friends turn cautious. Allies disappear. And every answer raises a more dangerous question: Who can be trusted when the system itself is compromised?
With time running out and targets closing in, Salvager is forced to confront not only the network, but his own limits. Because this enemy doesn't need to pull a trigger to destroy him - it only needs to expose the right secret at the right time.
In Book Three of The Salvager series, the stakes escalate, the world expands, and the cost of knowing the truth becomes deadly clear.
Some secrets are buried for a reason.
And some networks never forgive.
Jack Baptiste is the pen name used by Robert Suter, a lifelong storyteller with a sharp eye for human nature, hidden motives, and the quiet forces that shape lives from the shadows. Drawing inspiration from real-world events, news headlines, and decades of observing people at their best and worst, Souter crafts suspense-driven stories grounded in realism rather than spectacle.
The Salvager series reflects his belief that the most dangerous threats are not always obvious - and that truth, once uncovered, often comes at a cost. Writing under the Jack Baptiste name allows him to explore darker themes of power, secrecy, and moral consequence while keeping the focus squarely on story and character.
When not writing, Suter continues to observe, question, and imagine the unseen connections that link one life to another - because every story, like every secret, leaves a trace.
