Returning to Europe means saying goodbye to her friends again, but Targa––a powerful teenage siren and water elemental––has someone she loves waiting for her on the banks of the Baltic. When those closest to her encourage her to let Antoni in on her secret identity, Targa is torn between the promise she made her mother when she was just a child, and the desire to be honest. Will she keep her secret, or reveal her true self to the man she loves?
The last thing Targa and Mira want is to be separated, but Mira grows distant as the voice of the ocean becomes urgent, and its clear she is suffering. Will Targa and Mira's close-knit mother/daughter bond be strong enough to keep the irresistible call of the mermaid's salt-cycle at bay?
When someone who shouldn’t be alive turns up, Targa and Antoni are sucked into a breathless, whirlwind adventure leading them leagues under the ocean’s surface where even Targa’s great powers cannot save Antoni from an ancient force neither of them saw coming.
You will fall in love with these characters and wish the adventure would never end! Grab your copy and fall into a world of elemental magic, love, and mermaid lore like you’ve never experienced it before!
Salt & Stone is a continuation of the Elemental Origins Series by award winning and USA Today Bestselling Author, A.L.Knorr. The Siren's Curse Series is best enjoyed if readers have read Born of Water and/or The Elementals.
INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR:
Q: What makes your writing special and different?
A: I write cuss-free, no on-page sex fantasy stories featuring strong female protagonists, and themes of love, friendship, the environment (because its something I care deeply about), while delivering a fast-paced adventure. I’ve been told my writing is very cinematic and that readers can watch it play out on the screen of their mind in full-colour as they read. My Elemental Origins Series is non-linear, meaning it doesn’t have to be read starting at book 1, you can pick up any of the first 5 books and dive in because they all take place simultaneously.
I believe its an authors job in today’s world to nurture empathy, help the reader live another life and feel what its like to be in someone else’s shoes. I try to write as believable a fantasy world as possible, with characters who value life and care for one another. My antagonists are often somewhat faceless for part of the story, providing mystery, and they are also not ‘just bad guys’, they’re people with their own world view one might understand, even if you don’t agree with it. Most of all, I just want to tell a great story and make readers feel something - I’m told I do a good job at that.
Q: Aside from Salt & Stone, what other books do you write, and what order should I read them in?
A: I also write the bestselling Elemental Origins Series that chronicles Targa and 4 other girls as they venture beyond the borders of their Canadian home and experience transformational supernatural summer adventures. I recommend reading Born of Water before reading Salt & Stone.
If you like Melissa Meyer, Tamora Pierce, Leia Stone, Jaymin Eve, Cassandra Clare, Lauren Kate, Stephenie Meyer, Becca Fitzpatrick, or Michelle Madow, you will LOVE AL Knorr’s storytelling!
A.L. Knorr is a 2018 Readers Favorite Gold Medal Winner for Born of Water.
