Paperback. Discover the extraordinary story of love, faith, and holiness that began in the quiet streets of Normandy and culminated in sainthood. SAINT ZELIE AND LOUIS MARTIN: Passion, Suffering, and the Road to Canonization reveals the remarkable lives of the parents of St. Therese of Lisieux-two ordinary people whose marriage, family, and unwavering devotion to God became a hidden wellspring of sanctity that would inspire generations. This book takes you inside their world: the lace workshops and watchmaker's benches where daily labor became prayer, the joys and heartbreaks of raising children, the courage to endure loss, illness, and social misunderstanding, and the quiet heroism of lives wholly surrendered to God. Through vivid storytelling and intimate detail, you will witness how Zelie and Louis transformed the ordinary rhythms of domestic life into a path of extraordinary virtue, forming a family that would shape Catholic spirituality worldwide. From providential encounters to personal sacrifice, from the heartbreak of early deaths to the triumph of faith and holiness, this biography uncovers a love that was tested, refined, and sanctified. Their journey culminates in a historic canonization-the first married couple declared saints together-offering a timeless model of marriage, parenting, and faith for today's families.Perfect for those seeking inspiration, spiritual guidance, or a deeper understanding of how holiness can flourish in ordinary life, this book illuminates the profound truth that love lived faithfully in the home can leave a mark not only on the world but on eternity.
