'To a Connecticut valley in the early days of the settlers came Elizabeth Burr, gently-reared, seventeen-years-old, and banished forever from her Scottish home because she had fallen - indiscreetly - in love.On the isolated Cameron farm, amidst harsh wintes and a land still inhabited by Indians, Elizabeth had to learn how to work and live as a woman in pioneer country. When James Anderson fell in love with her she accepted the adoration of the strong but gentle man as a protection for the future. But amidst the savage and colourful life - sometimes wild, sometimes beautiful - she never forgot the man she had left behind in Scotland. The Safe Bridge.' 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
