Large-format images of fashionably dressed women with their backs to the viewer. Sabine Liebchen keeps the constantly changing role of women in her paintings open – as though in a narrative, which does not strive for a decisive climax, but is instead based on highly precise observation. Through the care and diligence when dealing with the motif and the traditional openness of the figure viewed from behind, Liebchen leaves room for a broad range of interpretations.
