She just wants to get home. Distracted by a fierce storm, traffic and chaos, she takes the wrong exit from the freeway. What she stumbles across changes her life forever.
Ellen Mannering, a fifty-three-year-old wife and mother from an affluent Sydney suburb, and Grace Daniels, an eighteen-year-old dancer from the other side of the tracks, become inextricably bound up in each other’s lives after a violent incident. Previously unknown to each other, they will travel on a hazardous journey together, taking them north into the untamed wilds of the Queensland hinterland.
Out of their comfort zones, they will be stalked by danger, learn what treachery really means and face death. Deftly-plotted and atmospheric, this new novel from award-winning writer Suzanne Hawley also confirms that trust and friendship can grow out of the most challenging of circumstances.
When you jump in the water with snakes, you need to swim pretty damn fast!
