Neuware - World War II veteran, dentist, and university professor Edgar J. Goldenthal draws upon his rich life experiences to deliver this fascinating, provocative collection of short stories. His involvement in World War II and his background in science and history create a fertile ground for action-packed pseudo-scientific and pseudo-historical fiction. Comprised of more than twenty stories, Very Strange Stories You Have to Read touches upon a variety of topics, serious and comic, tragic and uplifting. 'Hans' shares the harrowing events of one Jewish family in 1939 Europe, and 'Manfredonia' is the bizarre tale of Hitler's early relatives. Other stories, including 'Termination' and 'Re-Creation,' focus on the unknown properties of our future. In addition, several focus on the lives of ordinary individuals, including 'The Fortune Cookie Collector,' the story of an Oriental living deep in the heart of New York's Chinatown. Goldenthal also includes articles that served as his inspiration for several of his stories, offering added insight into the creative process and revealing the curious link between fact and fiction. Rich in detail and ambitious in scope, Very Strange Stories You Have to Read offers a welcome respite from the world's chaos and guarantees a rollicking ride into the creative abyss.…
