They came for the same thing - heat, hands, oblivion, the particular freedom of being wanted by a stranger in the dark. What they found instead was The Meridian: an organization that has been watching, recruiting, and consuming queer desire for nearly a century, patient enough to wait decades between visits, thorough enough to never lose a file.SPLIT OPEN, Volume 2 collects the last ten stories in a saga of body horror, obsession, and appetite that doesn't ask permission - a private film set in the Hollywood Hills where the director keeps rolling long after the safe word stops meaning anything, a Mardi Gras ritual in the French Quarter where the chosen vessel comes back three days later carrying someone else's hunger, an evangelical camp in the Montana.Every story stands alone. Read them in any order. But keep reading, and you'll start to notice the same card in different pockets, the same name surfacing in different decades, the same patient hunger behind every locked door.
