1932, xxviii, 534pp, index. Extremities worn, previous owner's name at rear pastedown, may be ex-lib, pocket (?) removed from rear pastedown, contents G. From the preface: "The purpose of the editor in publishing a new book on Southern Literature is to assist the South in getting acquainted with herself, and to give other sections some idea of what has been accomplished by the writers in Dixie. No attempt has been made to include all the able writers of the South, and no claim is made that all of those included have a right to the attention of the reading public; however, if the biographies and selections arouse more interest in literature as it expressed the life and traditions of the South, the purpose of the book will have been realized.".
