What happens when the one who takes care of everyone suddenly needs someone to take care of her?

Deep in a magical forest stands Cherry Jerry, an enormous tree filled with glowing, colourful cherries and warm hollows that make a home for six very different friends. To Dottie, Mona, Nancy, Knotty, Bumpy and a tiny bird named Voz, Cherry Jerry is more than a tree. She is shelter, comfort, food and the steady heart of their forest.

But Cherry Jerry has spent so long giving to everyone else that she has forgotten to look after herself. When her cherries begin to fade and the forest grows quiet, her friends know they must help. The problem feels far too big, especially to Voz, who is small, frightened and unsure what difference one little bird could possibly make.

As the friends search for a way forward, each brings something different: energy, patience, kindness, worry, determination and courage. Together they begin to discover that caring is not only about receiving help. It is also about noticing when someone else needs you, asking for help when things feel too big, and understanding that even the smallest voice can matter.

The Soul of the Forest is a richly illustrated children's picture book about kindness, teamwork, emotional awareness, courage, gratitude and caring for the people who care for us. Through a gentle fantasy adventure and a cast of expressive animal characters, the story opens natural conversations about big feelings, self-belief, anxiety, cooperation, rest and the strength found in helping one another.

At its heart is a simple but powerful idea for children and grown-ups alike: the people who give us the most care sometimes need care themselves.

Warm, imaginative and emotionally meaningful, this story is well suited to family read-alouds, classroom discussions and children who are learning to understand their feelings while finding confidence in their own voice.

For readers who love heartfelt stories with adventure, friendship and a message that stays with them after the final page, step into Cherry Jerry's forest and discover why no one is ever too small to make a difference.
