FIRST EDITION. 4to. 7.75 x 11 inches. vi + [ii] + 58 pp. Bound in original blue cloth, front board decorated with blind stamped borders surrounding gilt arms.; spine rebacked with new endpapers preserving original title. All edges gilt. Extremities worn, some fading of border edges and foxing including plates, largely confined to margins. 1874 inscription. Illustrated by 24 original etched plates, including frontispiece and by vignettes in text. A very scarce title; COPAC records one copy only of this original edition in the British Library.
