The "Show-Me" Guide to Missouri offers a broad listing of libraries, government agencies, genealogical societies, museums, archives, private collections, universities and other repositories of information from all over the United States that are holding genealogical or historical records pertaining to Missouri in their collections. The entries are organized alphabetically within sections noting either the type of facility housing the records or the nature of the records themselves. Along with more obviously genealogically relevant data and facilities such as adoption records, Civil War records, the National Archives, the Social Security Administration and others, the text also provides contact information for accessing a wide variety of more specialized historical data, including Prohibition Era records, Missouri aviation records, information on sports figures and celebrities from Missouri, covered bridges, state flags, landmark preservation, weather emergencies and natural disasters, and much more. The sections on public and Federal Depository Libraries, military records and national cemeteries are particularly thorough, providing addresses, contact names, phone and fax numbers wherever available and in some cases a summary of the material available for review. This volume includes listings from the following counties: Adair, Andrew, Atchison, Audrain, Barry, Barton, Bates, Benton, Bollinger, Boone, Buchanan, Butler, Caldwell, Callaway, Camden, Cape Girardeau, Carroll, Carter, Cass, Cedar, Chariton, Christian, Clark, Clay, Clinton, Cole, Cooper, Crawford, Dade, Dallas, Daviess, Dekalb, Dent, Douglas, Dunklin, Franklin, Gasconade, Gentry, Greene, Grundy, Harrison, Henry, Hickory, Holt, Howard, Howell, Iron, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Laclede, Lafayette, Lawrence, Lewis, Lincoln, Linn, Livingston, McDonald, Macon, Madison, Maries, Marion, Mercer, Miller, Mississippi, Moniteau, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, New Madrid, Newton, Nodaway, Oregon, Osage, Ozark, Pemiscot, Perry, Pettis, Phelps, Pike, Platte, Polk, Pulaski, Putnam, Ralls, Randolph, Ray, Reynolds, Ripley, St. Charles, St. Clair, St. Francois, St. Louis, Ste.
