Sexual Harassment in the Workplace: A Practical Guide for Small and Medium-Sized Employers – Implementing the 3 C’s Framework and UK Employment Law
Create a workplace where respect is protected, concerns are heard, and everyone feels safe.
Sexual harassment remains one of the most challenging workplace issues facing employers today. It can damage employee wellbeing, destroy trust, impact organisational reputation, and expose businesses to significant legal and financial risks.
Written for small and medium-sized employers, HR professionals, managers, business owners, and leaders, “Sexual Harassment in the Workplace” provides a practical, easy-to-understand guide to preventing, identifying, and effectively responding to sexual harassment in line with UK employment law.
Drawing on real-world HR experience and practical workplace scenarios, this book moves beyond legal definitions and helps organisations build a culture where inappropriate behaviour is addressed before it escalates.
Inside this practical guide, you will discover:
A clear understanding of sexual harassment under the Equality Act 2010
Understand what constitutes sexual harassment, how the law protects employees, and the responsibilities employers have to prevent and address inappropriate behaviour.
The 3 C’s Framework: Commit, Communicate and Act
A simple and effective approach to creating safer workplaces:
- Commit to a culture of dignity, respect and zero tolerance for harassment.
- Communicate expectations, policies and reporting routes clearly.
- Act promptly, fairly and consistently when concerns are raised.

Learn how to create practical policies that employees understand and managers can confidently apply.
Guidance for handling complaints and disclosures sensitively
Understand how to respond when an employee raises a concern, protect confidentiality, avoid victimisation, and ensure a fair process.
Practical investigation guidance for managers and HR professionals

This book is not just about compliance. It is about leadership, responsibility and creating workplaces where people can perform at their best without fear of harassment or inappropriate behaviour.
Whether you are a business owner trying to understand your legal duties, a manager supporting your team, or an HR professional looking for practical guidance, this book provides the tools, knowledge and confidence needed to take meaningful action.
