ISSUED AMONG A LIMITED EDITION OF 60 COPIES, THIS BEING ONE OF FIVE COPIES "SPECIALLY CASED . . . FOR PRESENTATION TO DR. SHALIGRAM SHUKLA." Unpaged - 33 pages plus four leaves of plates with tissue guards. Hardcover: H 21.75cm x L 17.75cm. No dust jacket (as issued). Reddish-brown cloth spine; patterned cloth boards. Interior leaves are bright and clean. Binding is firm. Acquired from the estate of Professor Shaligram Shukla (1940-2022) who earned his Ph.D. at Cornell and taught at Georgetown University's Department of Linguistics for fifty years beginning in 1967. Dr. Shukla taught Sanskrit to author Simon Mauck and is credited in the book's rear colophon for offering "an expert reading of [Mauck's] translation." {Copy#CVA-02301}.
