Ilustrado com a reprodução de 12 gravuras selecionadas das que integram a obra de André Vesálio, «De humani corporis fabrica». A folha de rosto reproduz o frontispício da 1ª edição. Excelente e muito nítida impressão sobre papel muito encorpado, com índice e explicação das gravuras no verso da folha de rosto. Tem folhas em branco no início e no fim. De «Humani corporis fabrica» é uma das mais célebres obras sobre a anatomia humana e foi publicada pela primeira vez em Basileia em 1543, data assinalada por muitas iniciativas em todo o mundo para as quais contribuiu esta magnífica edição.
