This novel is the story of Paul Wagner, a Deacon in St. John's Congregation of Lawnsdale, Ohio, who won the hearts of all around him by kind words, helpful acts, and his generosity, sometimes depriving himself of comfort and ease. Upon his death, his widow met on hard times and eventually profited from her husband's past deeds. This copy is clean and solid.
