1650, Venice, appresso li Milochi, pp [xxxii], 366, full contemporary vellum, engraved vignette title page, engraved bookplate of the Supreme Council with masonic devices. This important work, attributed to the anatomist Gabriello Falloppio (1523-1562), but possibly written by his contemporary, the physician Leonardo Fioravanti, was first published in 1563. Books of secrets such as this were very popular in medieval times, and this particularly features oils and medicines in the first part, wines and health drinks in the second, and alchemy and other curiosa in the third. Although a later edition, it is very scarce in either library holdings or commerce. Some browning and staining to text, covers with some marks, generally a good, complete copy of a scarce item.
